Allen Johnson, Executive Director of the Orlando Venues, recently spoke with Jim Varsallone of the Miami Herald about Orlando’s bid to host WrestleMania 33 next year.
The location for WrestleMania 32 was already announced by this time last year, so an announcement should be imminent. Johnson told Jim Varsallone:
“I think we’re ready for it. We’re prepared to whatever year they decide to come back. We’re ready for them, and we now have the infrastructure in place to accommodate it much better than before, and they know that.”
Orlando’s Citrus Bowl hosted WrestleMania 24 back in 2008. Since then, the stadium has undergone $207 million in renovations.
“They’ve toured the stadium. They’ve been here and seen what we now are capable of versus what we were capable of. That gets us in the conversation to host one of those events.”
