– We noted a few months back via WrestlingDVDNetwork.com that WWE was considering either a DVD set on Shane McMahon or the United States Title for this year. The Shane project was nixed and the US Title DVD is being released soon but there’s now speculation that the Shane title may be back on for another date. However, WDN reports that the project is still shelved as of last word but that doesn’t mean it won’t be revived now that Shane is back working with the company. It was rumored at one point that perhaps the project was nixed due to Shane’s involvement, which doesn’t look like it would be an issue now.
– The Miz appeared at a Full Sail University Hall of Fame celebration this past weekend and awarded seven $10,000 scholarships to students. The Miami Herald has coverage of the event at this link and notes that WWE Executive Vice President of Special Events John Saboor was also there. The students, who help with NXT production and events, awarded this round were Marva Williams, Tyler Beach, Victoria Yurillo, Denia Brand, Clayton Gaudette, Harrison Herbst, and Jennifer Stadelman. WWE has awarded $250,000 in scholarships since partnering up with Full Sail in May 2012. Triple H said in a statement:
“WWE would first like to congratulate the 2015 Full Sail University Hall of Fame inductees on their achievement. As we reflect on the achievements of those who have graduated; we also look to the future in granting scholarships to these seven current Full Sail University students to continue their education in their chosen fields. Since we began this partnership, WWE has had the honor of granting $250,000 in scholarships to several deserving students. We look forward to continuing this program that recognizes great academic accomplishments.”
– The new episode of “Talk Is Jericho” features top tag team The Young Bucks. Chris Jericho tweeted these props for the brothers:
