There had reportedly been talk within WWE about whether AJ Styles would be allowed to use his Styles Clash finisher or not. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Vince McMahon found out about Yoshitatsu suffering a broken neck from the move and was concerned. As a result, the company decided the calf crusher would be AJ Styles’ new finisher.
Up until his Fastlane match with Chris Jericho, Styles had only used the Styles Clash once before, against Curtis Axel. According to The Observer, Jericho wanted the move in his match and the spot was approved by management.
It should be noted that the Styles Clash is not banned, but it won’t be AJ’s primary finisher.
Who said the styles clash was banned?
