WWE management has issued a new edict to the creative team regarding the opening segment of RAW each week.
The new rule is for the writers to work in references to major cultural events in the show opening promos, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The Super Bowl, The Grammys and the Emmys were all recently cited as examples that needed to be integrated into the script for the opening segment of RAW.
This isn’t the only new instruction the creative team has received lately. Last week, it was reported that they were working on making their television product “more edgy” for WrestleMania season.
