NOAH held a public press signing for the upcoming GHC title matches that are set to take place on the 19th at the Korakuen Hall.
With less than 5 days to go, NOAH held the event at the Tower Records store in Shibuya, Tokyo. The tension between the GHC Heavyweight Champion Takashi Sugiura and the challenger Katsuhiko Nakajima has reached it's height. As Sugiura remained silent throughout the press event only to then got into the challengers face. Nakajima though stood his ground as he did not even flinch to the champion. Sugiura had to be pulled away before the two could have ended up in a physical confrontation before the show. As Sugiura fought from being pulled away, Nakajoma stated that he "cannot stop" as he aims to bring the belt back home to NOAH. The fans appeared to be on his side as they gave him a strong positive reaction.
The current reigning GHC Tag Champions, Killer Elite Squad, have proven themselves to be a dominant team in NOAH as they stated that their current aim is to claim the all-time defense record for the belts which sits at 7, Misawa and Ogawa 2004/05. If they defend the belts they will indeed be sitting at 7 defenses for themselves. Both Shiozaki and Taniguchi stated that they aim to stop Suzuki-gun from claiming any historic honors during their reign.
Yoshinobu Kanemaru will be defending the GHC Junior belt in a rematch against the former champion Taiji Ishimori. Ishimori has taken offense to the route that Kanemaru had to go to once more become champion, ie cheating with the aid of the SZKG. Ishimori stated that he was humiliated with that loss, let alone just coming off of just reclaiming the belt from SZKG. Kanemaru has shown nothing but disrespect to the belt since re-claiming it and said that he has no plans in losing it.
The the GHC Junior Tag belts will see Daisuke Harada & Atsushi Kotoge defending against Kenoh & Hajime Ohara. The challengers have stated that they have changed a lot in the last year and are ready to become champions once more, though the champions were the ones to finally overcome the SZKG threat. The champions have asked for a pure wrestling contest to be conducted, without the use of cheating, as they aim to show just what it means to be a junior in NOAH.
