Neville’s Ankle & Shin Broken On RAW *Updated With Backstage Video*

Neville suffered a broken left ankle last night on RAW during his match against Chris Jericho. As Neville was attempting a baseball slide through Chris Jericho’s legs, his ankle buckled on the canvas. He worked on the injury for a few minutes before Jericho called an audible and shoved referee Charles Robinson to get disqualified. Jericho could be heard yelling, “He’s hurt.” Neville was helped to the back by WWE officials.

WWE released this video of Neville being checked out backstage by medical personnel. Neville is visibly shaken up when he is told the ankle is broken. No word yet on how long he will be out of action:

Props to Jericho for improvising on the spot and trying to end the match quickly once Neville realized he could no longer continue. The Referee should have known better to try and continue the match by not counting the three, when Neville was clearly down for the count. Once again Jericho showed his veteran instincts by forcing the match to end by shoving Robinson to get the disqualification. That was one of those rare moments where things don't go to plan, and the only other men in the match besides the injured Neville cannot decide how to proceed. Makes me wonder if Vince wasn't in the back screaming at Robinson to continue the match, and Jericho wasn't having any of it. Regardless, always go for the early end if a man is injured, glad to see Jericho looking out for the younger guys.
