WWE.com annoucned today that Revolution Pro Wrestling in the United Kingdom has announced the participants in its qualifying match for the WWE Global Cruiserweight Series. The bout is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 1, at The Cockpit in London.
Confirmed participant and maybe one of the youngest, Noam Dar of Scotland enters the GCS in the qualifying round. As one of the UK’s premier independent wrestlers (at 22 years old) Dar has already faced some of WWE’s best in Former NXT Champion Finn Bálor, Austin Aries, and the number one contender for the WWE championship Aj Styles.
Dar’s opponent in the qualifying match is Josh Bodom. Bodom has made a name for himself against the likes of Finn Bálor and Global Cruiserweight Series hopeful and NXT superstar, Tommaso Ciampa
This summer, WWE will pit 32 of the world’s best cruiserweight wrestlers against one another in the Global Cruiserweight Series. WWE has announced that independent promotions like EVOLVE and Progress will host qualifying matches for the single-elimination tournament.
The new WWE Global Cruiserweight Series is currently scheduled to start airing Wednesday nights on WWE Network beginning July 13th at 9 p.m. EST, right after NXT airs
