Last week, Alberto Del Rio broke the news that the League of Nations faction would be disbanding soon. He told SoloWrestling, “We as a group have never worked very well, so we decided that it is better to separate.”
At Tuesday night’s SmackDown tapings, the split came to fruition. League of Nations squared off against Cesaro, Sami Zayn and United States Champion Kalisto in a 6-man tag match. Del Rio and Rusev abandoned Sheamus during the match, effectively marking the end of the international faction.
No word yet on what’s planned for Sheamus, but Del Rio says he plans to pursue the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Rusev and Lana were back together on RAW and Wade Barrett hasn’t been seen since the group turned on him the night after WrestleMania 32.
