Despite rumors of his return, it sounds like Kurt Angle will not be coming back to WWE. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims that the Olympic gold medalist won’t be working for WWE again any time soon.
Meltzer says that WWE officials confirmed on Thursday that Angle will not be joining the company for their upcoming brand split.
Angle stirred up the rumors on Monday on Mark Madden’s Pittsburgh radio show, saying that he had talked to Triple H and a deal was in place. The story grew to the point where there were even rumored start dates for Angle.
Angle, 47, finished up his TNA contract in March of this year, and hasn’t worked with WWE since August of 2006. Despite announcing he would retire for a year, he’s been working select indy dates with the likes of Rey Mysterio Jr.
