Former TNA star Jessy Sorensen has been announced as a WWE Cruiserweight Classic alternate competitor, along with Kai Katana, Vandal Ortagun, Jesus Yurnet and Aaron Solow.
The alternates are there in case some of the 32 competitors get injured or fail to make weight.
Sorensen provided these comments to the WWE website:
“There was a time in my career where I didn’t think I would ever get to wrestle again. I had a pretty serious neck injury, so to be considered is an honor. I’ve been taking in the experience, but being an alternate just motivates me to be the guy who’s called up next and gets to be in the tournament next time. Still, it’s an honor to be an alternate. There are millions of people who want this opportunity, and I’m one of the people who got it.”
