American Grit starring John Cena has been renewed for a second season on FOX.
The first season didn’t draw stellar ratings. The season premiered with 2,430,000 viewers, and the finale drew 2,160,000 viewers. Deadline.com reports that while there’s no premier date for the second season, FOX has confirmed that they’ve renewed the reality series and casting for season two has begun.
The second season of American Grit will be the first project under Cena’s new deal Leftfield Entertainment to help them produce unscripted shows.
It’s unknown whether Cena will take time off from WWE for production of the second season. He’s not currently advertised for WWE’s SmackDown-branded Backlash pay-per-view on September 11th.
