After months of speculation stemming from his inclusion in WWE 2K17, it sounds like former World Champion Bill Goldberg is officially in talks with WWE about returning to the company.
TMZ Sports reports that “the wheels are in motion” for the former WCW star to appear on WWE television. During promotional appearances for WWE 2K17, Goldberg teased that he’s interested in stepping back in front of WWE cameras. During Gamescom 2016 in Germany, Goldberg called out current WWE star Brock Lesnar, and Lesnar returned the favor on the red carpet of 2K Sports’ WWE 2K17 launch party.
“Life’s too short to dwell upon past differences,” Goldberg said to TMZ about his past disagreements with WWE.
Despite not showing interest in returning to the ring in previous years, Goldberg claimed earlier this month that he’s still ready to “rip people’s faces off” in the squared circle. At Gamescom 2016 Goldberg indicated that he’d like to perform for the fans once again, but that the decision is ultimately up to WWE management.
