ESPN personality Amin Elhassan is getting a lot of negative feedback on social media after a series of tweets about Kevin Owens’ 8-year-old son Owen. Earlier this week, KO’ wife posted a video on Instagram showing their son’s reaction to him winning the WWE Universal Championship on RAW. It was a nice moment of a child being genuinely proud of his father achieving the biggest moment of his career. Elhassan saw the video and decided to take a dig at pro wrestling being ‘entertainment.’

Until someone told him it was scripted. https://t.co/Mzfwfj8AZ3

This got wrestling fans on Twitter riled up, with several of them pointing out to Elhassan that Kevin Owens’ son is autistic. In response to somebody telling Elhassan, “he’s autistic,” he replied:

@SteveCono @ForTheWin the wrestler or the kid?

After it was clarified that Kevin Owens son was autistic (which really has nothing to do with mocking a child for being proud of his father), Elhassan continued:

@SteveCono @ForTheWin well that doesn't change anything then. Most 8 year olds think wrestling is unscripted.

jasonKGardner his autism isn't the reason he thinks wrestling is real. The fact that he's 8 is

Cody Rhodes caught wind of the exchange and told WWE they should have nothing to do with an organization that employs somebody who insults a child. He told them to stop working with TMZ after the tabloid site published the audio of his mother calling 911 when his father Dusty was dying.

WWE

Cut ties w/TMZ-they ran my Mother's 911 call

Cut ties w/ESPN-they insulted a child

Have balls. "'Mainstream" ain't always worth it.

ESPN’s Jonathan Coachman chimed in, putting Elhassan in his place and complimenting Kevin Owens.

Really thought you were better.Been jaded too long filling in on @LeBatardShow show. Can't appreciate real emotion. https://t.co/KqMAVHr5jv

I agree and will handle it. You know what they say "those who can do. Those who can't criticize". KO is special. https://t.co/vcwD1DaOcp

WWE RAW General Manager Mick Foley says an apology is in order.

An apology from @espn seems like the least they could do. https://t.co/cS43kDMZyB
