Stuart Tomlinson, who appeared under the name Hugo Knox for WWE’s NXT division, has been released from his contract with the company.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, who broke the story this afternoon, it was described to him as a “mutually agreed upon decision.”
Tomlinson confirmed the news on Twitter by retweeting this message and responding to it.

Tomlinson also noted that he has been dealing with issues to his neck.

The 31-year-old had been training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida since December of 2013. He made his wrestling debut for NXT in November 2014 and would sporadically appear at non-televised events in Florida. He appeared on television only one time; teaming with Tucker Knight on the Mar. 2, 2016 edition of NXT, the duo lost to The Vaudevillains. He last competed on Aug. 13, where he was beaten by Wesley Blake.
