John Cena just landed another movie role and will likely be away from WWE television for another extended period in 2017.
Variety reports that John Cena has signed on to co-star in “The Pact” along with Leslie Mann and Ike Barinholtz. The Pact focuses on “three parents who, upon discovering that their daughters have made a pact to lose their virginity on prom night, go out and try and stop them before it’s too late.”
Cena is currently on hiatus from WWE while he films the second season of his reality competition series American Grit for Fox. He’s due back at the end of December.
The 15-time world champion continues to grow his resume outside of WWE in the later years of his in this second half of his in-ring career. At 39 years old, there’s no reason to believe Cena won’t be wrestling main events for many years to come. However, the man who once criticized The Rock for prioritizing show biz over WWE is earning more and more opportunities to spread his wings on television and in movies.
