Glenn Jacobs, known in the WWE as Kane, may be running for mayor in Knox County, Tennessee. Jacobs has resided in Knox County since 1995. The election isn’t until May 1, 2018, but Jacobs has begun taking steps that indicate he is preparing for to run for mayor.
According to Knoxville’s WCYB.com, Kane, who runs Jacobs Insurance Associates in Halls, TN, has filed paperwork with the Knox County Election Commission appointing a political treasurer, Brian Carl. He identifies himself as a Republican.
Kane spoke with another local station WBIR last year and announced he was seriously considering running for county mayor. He stated on Thursday that appointing a political treasurer is yet another step toward formally running for office.
“Knox County is a great place and we’re so happy and feel so blessed to live here,” Jacobs said of he and his wife Crystal. “I want to do my part going forward.”
