WrestleMania Buys, Lilian Garcia Interviewed, Legends Show
WWE's corporate site posted the following message regarding the amount of revenue WrestleMania 22 generated on pay-per-view. WWE's saying that they did more than one million pay-per-view buys worldwide for the show.
Correction to Newsweek Article
A recent article in Newsweek provided incorrect information about revenue generated from WrestleMania 22 this year.
WWE has generated more than one million pay-per-view buys from the WrestleMania 22 pay-per-view, representing, more than $37.7 million in gross revenue worldwide. Our domestic take alone for this event was more than $31.8 million, making it arguably the No. 1 pay-per-view of 2006.
That revenue number continues to grow as we receive final information from In Demand, the aggregator that reports the pay-per-view buys from the various cable systems around the country.
TheState.com conducted an interview with Lilian Garcia in an effort to promote the three-hour RAW show in Columbia, South Carolina this Monday. Lilian went to high school and college in that area, so that's why they did the interview with her. In the interview, Lilian mentioned that she sang at Trish Stratus' wedding last Saturday.
