RAW General Manager Kurt Angle spoke with The Sun last week and revealed that he was surprised to learn around WrestleMania that he’d be returning to WWE television on a weekly basis.
“There was never supposed to be a GM role,” he admitted. “I don’t know if it was Mick Foley’s hip or WWE just decided they wanted to bring me on the TV. It’s been a lot of fun. I love being with the guys and girls and every week you get a closer bond with them.”
Angle continued, “I’m obviously from a different generation so it’s kind of different for me to be here now. They’ve welcomed me and made me feel at home, I’m having a great time.”
Angle has made it clear in various interviews that he would love to lace up his boots (at least) one more time. Ultimately, the decision is up to Vince McMahon. In his talk with The Sun, the Olympic Gold medalist sounds more confident than ever that he hasn’t wrestled his final match in a WWE ring.
“You’ll see me back in the ring, for sure,” Angle said. “I don’t know when, but I can’t wait.”
