Drake Maverick has given the lowdown on what he expects of the wrestlers on WWE 205 Live.
It’s no secret that 205 Live has been undergoing some changes. Since it was reported that Triple H took over the creative direction of the show, there’s been a heavier focus on wrestling rather than segments that resemble a lite version of Monday Night Raw. In fact, many have drawn comparison of the show’s presentation in recent weeks to that of NXT.
The official YouTube channel of the WWE has released a new video featuring Maverick. The 205 Live general manager talks about his vision for 205 Live. It’s a refreshing clip where the man formerly known as Rockstar Spud talks about wrestling numerous times and shuns comedy skits:
“What did Daniel Bryan mean with his announcement? Simple, everybody coming out of the Cruiserweight Classic was talking about cruiserweight wrestling. I watched the Cruiserweight Classic, I wanted to be a part of the Cruiserweight Classic. Along the way, the guys on 205 Live, they’ve lost their way. Guys on the roster of 205 Live need to realize there’s gonna be changes the way we do business around here. This isn’t a place for cartoons. Cruiserweight wrestling is for competition.”
