Many have wondered if The Rock will make an appearance this Sunday at WrestleMania 34. The Rock didn’t appear last year at WrestleMania 33 because he was wrapping up filming Ballers in Los Angeles. The Rock did show up at WrestleMania 32 and was confronted by Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman and Erick Rowan.
The Rock wound up defeating Erick Rowan in an impromptu match. The Wyatt Family attacked The Rock after the match, but John Cena came down to the ring to make the save.
Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated has confirmed that WWE recently scrapped a segment that would have featured The Rock at WrestleMania 34. The musical segment would have featured Elias, Jeff Jarrett, The Rock and others. The Rock was reportedly going to perform a “Rock Concert” and that would have then the centerpiece of the segment.
Barrasso noted that the reason WWE scrapped the segment was because they could not get a definite commitment from The Rock. As of now, The Rock is not scheduled be a part of WrestleMania 34 unless there were renewed discussions with WWE.
We noted that on Tuesday’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez stated that he thought The Rock was going to appear at WrestleMania 34 and perform a concert with Elias. It appears that those plans have fallen through for now.
