WWE today announced the first 8 competitors for the upcoming United Kingdom Championship tournament will which establish a Number 1 contender for Pete Dunne’s WWE UK Title. Several of the names announced for the tournament will be making their official WWE live event debuts for the company in this massive tournament, including former ICW, PROGRESS and Revolution Pro Wrestling Champions.
The 8 men announced were as follows:
Joe Coffey
Joseph Connors
Jack Gallagher
Zack Gibson
Amir Jordan
El Ligero
Dave Mastiff

Fans of the UK scene may have noticed that several of the stars included in the tournament were previously involved in the World of Sport reboot, notably Dave Mastiff who worked in the main event of the original New Years Eve special. Kenny Williams, Joe Coffey, El Ligero and Zack Gibson were also involved in the WOS reboot so it will be interesting to see how their involvement affects the planned return to ITV for the WOS project.
