It was reported recently that the company has signed Progress Women’s Champion Jinny to a UK contract and now another latest WWE signee has been revealed.

Newshub.co.nz reports that the company has signed New Zealand rugby star Daniel Vidot and he’ll be reporting to the performance center in a few weeks.

Commenting on his signing Daniel said that his short-term goals include learning things about Professional Wrestling and in long term, he wants to become the WWE Champion:

“Short-term goals are to get to know everything I need to know about professional wrestling, learn the basics and take baby steps. Just keep developing. Long term I want to be WWE Champion.”

The story also features comments from Triple H who talks about how WWE is opening the pathway for the best athletes from around the world to join the company.

Born on 8 February 1990, Vidot made his first grade NRL debut for the Canberra Raiders back in 2009. Since then he has taken part in 9 NRL seasons.

Daniel apparently applied for the WWE tryouts through their new Performance Center website launched recently and he and two other athletes were chosen for a contract among 40 participants. Though the name of the other two signees is yet to be revealed.
