While many thought their match at the Greatest Royal Rumble was the final chapter of the rivalry between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, it appears that WWE thinks differently.
We noted before how Lesnar was not expected to wrestle anytime soon. His next match is expected to be at the SummerSlam PPV and it was said that the Universal Champion is slated to main event the show.
At the time there was no news on the possible opponent for the Beast, though now the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter has revealed the current plans for his challenger.
According to it, the working plan for the SummerSlam main event is for Roman Reigns to once again challenge the former UFC star and if some recent reports are to be believed, then the former Shield Member may finally win the title this time.
The fact that the commentary team was heavily pushing the idea that the Big Dog deserves a rematch after the controversial finish to their GRR match also appears to be an indication of the company’s future plans.
Things can obviously change between now and the PPV. However, so far Officials have been playing the idea that Reigns was screwed in the Universal title match and if it’s indeed Brock’s final bout for WWE, it’s most likely that Roman will get another shot at the title.
