As we’ve previously reported, current WWE Champion AJ Styles has been announced as the cover athlete for WWE 2K19.
Styles gets the news just hours after successfully defending his WWE Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura in a Last Man Standing match at the Money In The Bank PPV from Chicago’s Allstate Arena.
The game is set to get released on October 9, 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A trailer for the game has yet to be released. Styles, a huge fan of video games, joins past cover athletes such as The Rock, John Cena, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins last year.
Styles took to Twitter to react to the big news, calling it an absolute honor to be on the cover:
I’m absolutely honored to be the cover Superstar for #WWE2K19. Pre-order now: https://t.co/pBm5m4zk9d #ad
