WWE has officially launched their NXT UK brand.
The sports entertainment company made the news official during Monday’s (June 18, 2018) tapings for the UK Title Tournament at Royal Albert Hall in London, England. This show will air on June 25th and June 26th at 3pm EST on the WWE Network.
At the tapings, Triple H came to the ring and introduced WWE United Kingdom General Manager Johnny Saint. This led to Saint revealing several dates for upcoming UK TV tapings.
The first tapings will take place on July 28th and July 29th in Cambridge, England followed by the next set of tapings going down on August 25th and 26th in Birmingham, England, and October 13th and 14th in Plymouth, England. The final set of dates that were announced will go down in Liverpool, England on November 24th and November 25th.
The official WWE UK Twitter account tweeted out some details about the new brand:
“NXT UK, a new UK series featuring the greatest competitors from the UK and Ireland. The UK Championship title, plus two new Championships – the UK Women’s Championship title and UK Tag Team Championship titles – will be on the line.”
“The U.K. has an amazing talent base and incredibly passionate fans that are deserving of their own showcase,” said Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE Executive Vice President, Talent, Live Events & Creative in a statement posted on WWE.com. “This is the next step in our ongoing strategy to create localized content and further develop our brand globally.”
