WWE has officially announced the first match that will be taking place at the upcoming Extreme Rules PPV.
As seen on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW in Grand Rapids, MI at the Van Andel Arena on the USA Network, RAW General Manager Kurt Angle announced that Alexa Bliss would make her first title defense as RAW Women’s Champion against Nia Jax.
As noted, Ronda Rousey beat Jax by DQ in a WWE RAW Women’s Championship match at Sunday’s WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view event once Bliss attacked Rousey to cause the DQ. After the match, Bliss continued the beat down on Rousey and then attacked Jax where she would cash-in her MITB contract to win the title.
The Extreme Rules pay-per-view event takes place on Sunday, July 15, 2018 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the PPG Paints Arena and will air on the WWE Network and some traditional pay-per-view outlets. Both Raw and SmackDown brands will be featured.
As noted, local ads going around for this upcoming event are now pushing AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura, Roman Reigns vs. Jinder Mahal, and Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz as well as the Pittsburgh debut of Rousey. Keep in mind that the WWE has yet to announce these matches.
