Last night (Sun. July 15, 2018) WWE hosted their Extreme Rules PPV from the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

After a ton of speculation as to what match was going to main event the show, it wound up being the 30-minute Ironman match between Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins for the Intercontinental Championship. When it was all said and done, Ziggler retained his strap in Sudden Death Overtime.

Many people assumed that Roman Reigns vs. Bobby Lashley was going to main event the show. PWInsider reports that was actually WWE’s original plan. The last hour of the show would’ve featured AJ Styles vs. Rusev for the WWE Title as well as Nia Jax vs. Alexa Bliss for the RAW Women’s Title.

Ziggler vs. Rollins was initially scheduled to open up the show instead. Of course, those plans were completely reshuffled and Ziggler vs. Rollins went on last.
