While the card for the upcoming NXT Takeover: Brooklyn IV looks to be all set, it appears that the company has stumbled upon a roadblock on their way to the event.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer is reporting that the former NXT Champion Aleister Black got injured during a recent Live Event and had to undergo a surgery.
The Live Event in question took place in Las Vegas this past weekend and it saw Black challenging the NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa for his title in the main event of the show.
He suffered the injury after being crotched by the Champion. It has been noted that Aleister would be ok but the spot was described to be quite scary when it happened.
As of this writing, WWE has not released any official word on Black’s injury and the announced triple threat match among him, Ciampa and Johnny Gargano at the upcoming Takeover event is still on.
No word yet on how long the former NXT Champion will be out of action or how his surgery will affect this announced bout but we’ll keep you posted.
NXT Takeover: Brooklyn IV will take place on August 18, 2018, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
