Samoa Joe has found himself in the main event scene over on SmackDown Live.
The former NXT Champion will challenge AJ Styles for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam later this month. The event goes down on PPV from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on August 19, 2018.
“The Destroyer” spoke to Sportskeeda about his WWE Championship opportunity. During their conversation Joe also discussed having worked on both the RAW and SmackDown Live brands. Joe explained the differences in backstage environments between the two shows:
“Well, backstage, I do my own thing and have my own spots in the locker room so environmentally it’s not very different for me. But, the backstage environments are vastly different, but that is mainly because of the personalities.
“You’ve got some very unique individuals in the WWE and it’s a completely different nexus on SmackDown than it is on Raw.”
