Rey Mysterio has signed a new 2-year deal with WWE, according to a report at PWInsider This has been an expected move for months. Now that both sides have put pen to paper, the former WWE Champion’s television return should be imminent.
It was noted in the report that Mysterio was pushing for an 18-month contract. However, WWE pushed for the 2-year deal that they ultimately agreed to. A clause in the contract allows him to “give notice” to WWE at the 18-month mark. Now that Rey Mysterio is officially back on the WWE roster, creative can begin planning how to write him back into storylines.
Rey Mysterio has made a few appearances for WWE this year. He made a surprise appearance in the Royal Rumble in January He was also at April’s Greatest Royal Rumble from Saudi Arabia in April.
