WWE has confirmed that two World Cup Qualifying matches will take place on Raw Monday night. The World Cup is currently scheduled for Crown Jewel on November 2nd in Saudi Arabia.
Seth Rollins will face Drew McIntyre and Dean Ambrose will take on Dolph Ziggler on Monday in the two qualification matches. So far, John Cena, Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, and Randy Orton have qualified for the tournament. Rey Mysterio will face Shinsuke Nakamura at Smackdown 1000 in another qualifying match.
Tomorrow night’s edition of Raw will take place from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
Kurt Angle earned his qualification into the tournament in unique fashion. Angle won a battle royal last week organized by Constable Corbin while dressed as the Conquistador. He’d previously be on vacation at the advice of Stephanie McMahon.
Randy Orton qualified for the tournament by defeating Big Show Tuesday on Smackdown. Jeff Hardy qualified for the tournament by defeating Samoa Joe via referee stoppage Tuesday night as well. John Cena was just announced as being in the tournament rather than having to qualify.
As of this writing, the Crown Jewel event is still scheduled to go ahead as planned on November 2nd in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. 4 Superstars from Raw and 4 from Smackdown will take place in the 8-person one-night tournament.
