Triple H recently spoke with ESPN to promote Sunday’s WWE Evolution pay-per-view event in Long Island, New York at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum and the finals of the 2018 Mae Young Classic, which will feature Toni Storm vs. Io Shirai.

During the interview, “The Game” spoke about the success of Mae Young Classic where he noted that he had been pitching to do the tournament for a while and once got the green light from Vince McMahon, the WWE Chairman was under the impression that there would be 16 competitions. However, Triple H said that there would be 32. The only problem with 16 competitions was due to sometimes having to tell talents that they wouldn’t be in the tournament.

“You are trying to balance it all out stylistically and everything else, because the styles, and how people match up fight-wise is what makes these things unique. It was deep then, but along the way to finding the 32, or whatever we ended up with in total with all of the alternates, you’re digging up all of these diamonds that you’re going like, “Oh, yeah, we’re already packed, but next year [we will use you in the tournament].”

Ronda Rousey has caught fire with the WWE fans since signing with the WWE and making her in-ring debut earlier this year. He said that when they first met, she told him that she wanted to inspire young girls and young people and show them that you can do anything.

She felt that there is no bigger platform in the world for her to do that than WWE. She wanted to do every single entertainment and sport aspect of it and reach the world on a global basis. He added that he told her, “We go everywhere. That’s a game changer.”
