One returning WWE star is slated to be backstage at Tuesday’s SmackDown TV event Toledo, OH at the Huntington Center.
That star is former WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champion Luke Harper, according to a recent report by Mike Johnson of PWInsider. As of this writing, there’s no word yet on if he’ll be making his return on this show.
The New Day beat The Bludgeon Brothers (Luke Harper and Erick Rowan) to win the SmackDown Tag Team Titles on the August 21st episode of SmackDown Live in Brooklyn, New York the night after the SummerSlam pay-per-view event.
The reason for this title change is due to Rowan suffering an injury in that match at SummerSlam and undergoing surgery that same week. As a result, instead of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon making the decision to keep Harper on the blue branded show, it was decided to pull him off television.
During this time, Harper also underwent surgery due to a wrist injury. Since then, Rowan made his return to television at the Royal Rumble PPV where he was paired with WWE Champion Daniel Bryan.
Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live will serve as the go-home show for the Elimination Chamber of the blue brand.
