WWE Hall Of Famer ‘Bullet’ Bob Armstrong, real name Joseph Melton James apparently wrestled the final match of his career this past Saturday night.
He wrestled his final match from Pensacola, FL, and members of his family, including the soon to be Hall Of Famer and DX member Brian “Road Dogg” B.G. James, were present for the show according to F4wonline.
At the age of 79, this is Armstrong’s 59th year as a professional wrestler. He started his wrestling career in 1960 and all four of his children also went on to become wrestlers.
In the span of his career which lasted for nearly six decades, Bob has wrestled for companies like SCW, WWE, and a number of promotions under the National Wrestling Alliance.
In the course of his career, he held various championships under the NWA brand and throughout his wrestling days he has held gold over 55 times.
Though Bob Armstrong took semi-retirement in 1990. Since then he has made occasional appearances for promotions in Georgia and Alabama. He also made an appearance during the first TNA PPV while it was still part of the NWA.
Although this is not the first time he has wrestled a match billed as his last. In October 2018 he wrestled in a 6 man tag team match alongside Georgia Premier Wrestling’s Ernest Miller and Glacier which was also billed as his farewell bout.
