WWE has finally confirmed the fate of the SmackDown Women’s Championship by announcing a #1 contender’s match for the title on next week’s episode of the show.
The company has been teasing tension between Mandy Rose and her partner and former Absolution member Sonya Deville in recent times.
And in a backstage video after this week’s episode of SmackDown Live, they confirmed that these two will have to go against each other for an opportunity to face Asuka at WrestleMania.
Though they won’t be alone and seen in the video below, Kayla Braxton announced that they will compete against Naomi and Carmella in a fatal four-way match on SmackDown next week:

The winner of the match is expected to go on to WrestleMania and compete against the Japanese Superstar for the Blue Brand’s Women’s title.
Though as we noted before, WWE was undecided on a match for the championship until recently and they even nixed a planned one on one bout.
While they have now announced a #1 contender’s match, it’s still possible that no clear winner emerges from this bout and the SmackDown Women’s Champion ends up facing multiple opponents at the show.
Though what are the real plans of the company will be revealed next Tuesday.
