WrestleMania 35 is less than a week away, but that hasn’t stopped WWE officials from planning for the future. WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch vs. WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair will headline the show.
Dave Meltzer mentioned on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that plans for the title picture post-WrestleMania are starting to take shape.
This was when the longtime reporter started to speculate about how after this match there is the belief that Lynch will walk out of the biggest event of the year for the company as a double champion – RAW and SmackDown.
WWE would shift their focus on the star who lost their title without actually being beat whether that’s pinfall or submission. Thus, if Rousey lost her title, then Lynch vs. Flair would be the direction that WWE books Lynch going forward and if Flair takes the fall then it would be Rousey vs. Lynch.
Meltzer would add that whoever takes the loss, Lynch is expected to walk out as champion. The call on who will be actually beaten in the match will depend on the status of Rousey with the company as there have been reports that Rousey is going to be taking a break from WWE after WrestleMania.
Thus, it will be interesting to see who takes the pinfall/submission loss. Rousey would put Becky over if she were to leave. However, if she’s sticking around, then Charlotte would be the one to take the loss.
