Monday’s edition of WWE RAW from Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center averaged 2.924 million viewers, up from 2.639 million the previous week.

Although on the surface that looks like a great number, last year’s episode drew 3.921 million viewers. Thus, there was almost a full million viewers drop this year.

WWE did have to go up against the NCCA Men’s Basketball Championship Game on CBS that drew 19 million viewers, which had an impact on RAW’s viewership. It should be noted that the championship game last year took place a week before the post-WrestleMania 34 episode.

Here is the hourly viewership breakdown, courtesy of ShowbuzzDaily:

Hour 1: 3.182 million
Hour 2: 2.943 million
Hour 3: 2.646 million

The episode was expected to increase in viewership as this show was heavily hyped and it being the post show of the red brand for WrestleMania 35. This episode finished fifth for the night in total viewers on cable.

RAW featured appearances by WWE RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch, who got into a brawl with Lacey Evans. Also, The Undertaker did an in-ring segment by interrupting Elias that led to him hitting his signature moves and laying him out with a Tombstone.

Some of the matches that took place include RAW Tag Team Champions Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder vs. The Revival (Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson), Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley, Aleister Black & Ricochet vs. Bobby Roode & Chad Gable, Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor vs. Sami Zayn, and Kofi Kingston & Seth Rollins vs. The Bar (Cesaro & Sheamus) in the main event.

WWE hyped the Money in the Bank pay-per-view and the matches taking place at that show. WWE will attempt to keep up this momentum with its viewership for RAW next week.
