View Full Version : XFL Games Will Air On ESPN, Fox, & ABC

When the XFL re-launches next year, more than half the games will be broadcast on a major network. The new league announced broadcast deals with ESPN, Fox, and Disney/ABC this morning.

“We are thrilled to partner with ESPN and FOX Sports, two innovative media companies with extensive experience in world-class football production that will undoubtedly help us reimagine football,” said XFL Chairman Vince McMahon. “The XFL broadcast schedule provides us with incredible reach and makes it easy for fans to watch our games consistently every weekend.”

No fee was paid for the rights to air the broadcast but the networks will pick up some of the production costs:

The XFL is scheduled to begin play on February 8th, 2020. Dallas, Houston, LA, New York, St. Louis, Seattle, Tampa, and Washington will all have teams in the league.

“We look forward to showcasing the XFL on ESPN and ABC, including the kickoff game and championship during the league’s inaugural season,” said Burke Magnus, ESPN Executive Vice President, Programming and Scheduling. “We believe in their vision for the XFL, which will be a great addition to our year-round commitment to football.”

The league noted they were looking for maximum exposure with their broadcast deals.

“We wanted maximum reach, and these deals provide us with that,” said XFL President & COO Jeffrey Pollack.
