There are new WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions and that’s Daniel Bryan and Rowan.
During Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live in Louisville, KY at the KFC Yum Center, Bryan and Rowan beat The Usos (Jimmy & Jey) to win the titles that were vacant.
For those who are wondering, while The Usos are technically on the Monday Night RAW roster, they did appear and compete on the blue brand as part of WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon’s Wild Card Rule.
Back on the April 30th episode of SmackDown Live, The Hard Boys (Jeff & Matt Hardy) had to vacate the straps after they beat The Usos on the post-WrestleMania 35 episode of Smackdown Live in Brooklyn, New York. The reason for this is due to Jeff undergoing surgery on his right knee that will keep him out of action for a long time.
It appears that Bryan wrapped up his program with WWE Champion Kofi Kingston during the main event of Monday’s episode of RAW. Bryan is now a tag team player while Kingston will make his next title defense against Kevin Owens.
WWE has yet to announce if Bryan and Rowan will defend their titles at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view event on Sunday, May 19, 2019 in Hartford, CT at the XL Center.
