AJ Styles was expected to compete in a fatal four-way match on this week’s episode of Raw but he was pulled from the bout due to an injury.
WWE explained his removal via a backstage segment in the show, where Styles revealed that he felt his back pop during his Money In The Bank clash with Seth Rollins.
When asked how long he will stay out of action, he mentioned that he needs to get more tests done and the whole thing ended with Baron Corbin attacking AJ.
There have been speculations that the former WWE Champion’s injury is a work but a new report from PWinsider suggests that this is not the case. The Phenomenal One has been working hurt over the past few weeks. While the nature of his injury is unknown, the word backstage is that AJ is generally “banged up.”
It appears that WWE officials expect the Raw Star to stay out of action for a while as he is not being advertised for any shows in the next month except for Super Showdown.
