Former WWE Superstar and winner of the 2005 Diva Search, Ashley Massaro, recently passed away at the young age of 39. She was found dead on May 16th, 2019, just 10 days prior to her 40th birthday. The death of Massaro came as a shock to the entire wrstling world.
After this incident, WWE Legend Mick Foley started a GoFundMe campaign to fund the education of Massaro’s young daughter with the help of the Squared Circle Sisters. On the latest episode of Lillian Garcia’s podcast: Chasing Glory, Foley talked about his reaction to Ashley Massaro’s death and his involvement in raising funds for her child.
Mick Foley revealed that he lived in the same town as Massaro which is a rarity in the wrestling community. He regretted the fact that despite this, he did not once check in on her or offer her a ride. Foley said that he always felt like he would see her again, and when he heard the news of her death, it hit him harder than he thought it would.
Foley also stated that he cried like a baby when he heard the news of Massaro’s passing. According to Mick, he felt really wounded by her death as he feels he could have done more for the former WWE Star when she was around.
