Ricochet recently won the coveted US Championship at WWE Stomping Grounds by defeating Samoa Joe. The upstart superstar had to face AJ Styles the very next night on RAW, in a non-title match. While he put on a brilliant performance, the former NXT North American Champion was not able to defeat AJ Styles in this bout.

WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry discussed a variety of topics during the latest episode of Busted Open Radio. While discussing the match, Henry explained why he feels losing to Styles was actually a positive for the young Ricochet.

Henry said that it was good to see him in a match with AJ Styles because it created history. According to Mark, this loss was a positive thing because Ricochet will be able to come back and wrestle AJ Styles again down the road to show that he’s improved.

He added that the former NXT standout can come back and face the former WWE Champion when he has fixed his mistakes.Henry also believes that Ricochet will have more of a following now thanks to AJ Styles.

While Ricochet may not be equal to Styles right now, he will prove to AJ that he has improved later on and that is the Ricochet Mark Henry is excited to see.

Ricochet has just started his reign as the US Champion, and it will be interesting to see who he will defend his championship against at Extreme Rules.
