The Undertaker made his surprise return to WWE programming this week and many believed that the company might have brought him back after seeing the poor numbers of the Stomping Grounds PPV.
However, a latest report reveals that this was not the case and Taker’s return and his match at Extreme Rules were planned before the company had any idea about the PPVs performance.
According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Undertaker’s return was planned before the Supershow Down PPV in Saudi Arabia earlier this month, and so it had nothing to do with the low numbers of Stomping Grounds.
This also means that The former World Champion’s comeback was in the works before his highly criticized match with Goldberg at the Saudi Arabian PPV took place.
So the speculation from WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T who believed that Taker wanted to wrestle this match to get the taste of his bout with the former WCW Star out of his mouth, is also wrong.
