There were some fans that speculated that this match could take place in November at WWE’s return event in Saudi Arabia due to the big money offered to talents to work shows in the country.
This just happened in June with Goldberg vs. Undertaker at the Super ShowDown event. That is not likely to happen as Sting has been retired from the pro wrestling business for years.
Seth Rollins wrestled Sting for the WWE Title at the 2015 Night of Champions PPV event, which marked Sting’s last match and end of his career after he suffered a neck injury after taking a powerbomb in the corner.
This has been a match that Sting has wanted to take part in for years now. Despite his feelings for it to happen, it never did.
In previous interviews, he has stated that if he could’ve made it through his match with Rollins as planned then he planned to push hard for a match with Taker. Sting thinks that there was the potential for it but then he got hurt.
