Kevin Owens got the attention of fans thanks to his promo that he did on Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live.

It all started when Owens got into a brawl with Dolph Ziggler backstage. As a result, Shane McMahon would announce moments later that the scheduled match between Owens and Dolph Ziggler for the main event would be nixed as McMahon decided to send Owens home for the night. Ziggler was later booked to take on Roman Reigns in the headliner.

This would lead to Owens walking out to ringside where he cut a heated promo about being tired of seeing McMahon get more TV time rather than giving that time to other stars. He would list Buddy Murphy, Asuka, Kairi Sane, Apollo Crews, Ali, Authors of Pain, and more.

Owens noted that Shane has gotten more power, authority, and TV time and nobody watching ever wanted that. He said that having to listen to Shane being called the Best in the World every week makes him want to bang his head on the table every week.

McMahon would then come out and try to cut Owen’s microphone off. Owens ended his promo by stating that McMahon calls himself the best in the world and that it’s an insult to everyone in the back who fights every week. Owens said that he’s done and walked out of the arena.

Following the segment, Owens was praised by many fans to the point that he was trending on social media. While it was a great promo, only a select few top stars are given bullet points with their promos while the rest of the roster including Owens are given scripted lines to say.

Owens can easily be the greatest heel in WWE since JBL, they just have to use him right. His time in ROH proved that he's one of the greatest on the mic, and one of the greatest big guys inside the ring as well. He can easily carry anyone, and put over anyone. But first, give him what he deserves.

I think his promo and that backstage brawl were the best parts of the entire show the other night.

From what I'm hearing, he's wanting a shot a being a pushed babyface. He said he's never had a chance to be a bigtime babyface, so he wants to try it out and see how it goes. Not sure if Vince is going to let that happen or not. Personally, I like him as a dominating heel. They were pushing him a bit as a weasel heel, and it was bullshit. If he's a "prize fighter", they don't run.
