The General Manager of 205 Live and the current 24/7 Champion Drake Maverick was recently a guest on the Busted Open Radio. Maverick spoke about his long journey to WWE and how fortunate he is that his dreams finally came true. He also spoke about how his time in Impact and the independents helped him in his life.
The 24/7 Champion stated that he had a very British mentality while growing up. This essentially meant that he thought he’d live in his hometown for his entire life. However, Maverick chose to pursue his dreams and believed that if he ever made it to WWE he would be “over the moon”.
He recalled how his dream of becoming a WWE Superstar became more realistic once WWE started signing ex-TNA stars like Samoa Joe and Bobby Roode. This had come as a pleasant change, as earlier on there was a time when WWE did not look at TNA talents.
Later in the interview, he claimed that he is one of the fortunate ones to get a chance to earn a full time living in this industry because there aren’t many such spots in the sports entertainment world.
