Last night, Brock Lesnar successfully cashed-in his Money in the Bank briefcase on former Universal Champion, Seth Rollins. It was the 19th successful MITB cash-in in WWE history out of 23 attempts.

After Extreme Rules, MITB briefcase cash-ins have an 82.6% success rate. The only four wrestlers to fail in their cash-in attempts are John Cena, Damien Sandow, Baron Corbin, and Braun Strowman. Only Corbin and Sandow have failed during cash-in attempts which had not been scheduled ahead of time.

The men’s Money in the Bank briefcase has been successfully cashed-in on 16 of 20 attempts. The women’s Money in the Bank briefcase is 3 for 3 so far in terms of cash-in attempts.

For Lesnar, the cash-in on Rollins could likely be seen as retaliation for Rollins’ cash-in on him from WrestleMania 31. Lesnar was scheduled to defend his WWE title against Roman Reigns but Rollins cashed-in his briefcase to make it a triple threat. He then pinned Reigns to win the title, marking the first time a briefcase-holder pinned a non-champion to win a title during a cash-in.

Lesnar’s cash-in last night was the first time the Universal Championship has changed hands via the Money in the Bank briefcase.
