During a FOX meeting last week, the concept of moving WWE’s popular black-and-gold brand, NXT, to TV was reportedly discussed.

There is apparent interest in bringing the show, which currently airs on the WWE Network, onto Fox Sports 1. Most notably, they would want to air it on Wednesday nights.

This proposal comes off the rumor that All Elite Wrestling (AEW) will apparently debut their flagship TNT show on Wednesdays.

AEW has not yet officially announced which day they will air their show on, but the promotion has filed a trademark for ‘Wednesday Night Dynamite,’ making it the most likely contender.

Dave Meltzer, of Wrestling Observer Radio, noted that Vince McMahon would be undeniably upset if NXT competed against AEW and lost to the growing promotion in the ratings. To try and ensure victory, WWE will apparently be using every trick they can to secure NXT comes out ahead.

One part of their plan is to use main roster Superstars from both RAW and SmackDown on NXT—though whether that means for one-off appearances or long-term feuds is undetermined at this point in time.

During the Fight For The Fallen post-show media scrum, Tony Khan mentioned that AEW intends to announce further details of their TNT debut in October at All Out.
