Natalya will challenge Becky Lynch for the RAW women’s championship at SummerSlam on August 11th, 2019 in Toronto. Shortly after earning the title shot, Natalya commented on her and Lynch’s shared history in a post-match promo. Lynch was quick to point out that the person Natalya will be facing at SummerSlam is not the Becky Lynch she thinks of as a friend, however.
Natalya posted the following to her social media followers yesterday:
After these pictures were taken from Japan…you quit @BeckyLynchWWE. I powered on. Then you saw the rumblings of a REVOLUTION…and you decided to quit clown school and being a stunt double on Vikings to capitalize on the momentum MANY women created. Of which I was one. Not you.

Lynch retired from pro-wrestling following a head injury from 2006 to 2013. She actually wrestled a few matches in Ireland during that time but was largely out of the industry. Lynch returned to the business and was promptly given a WWE tryout and signed in 2013. She responded to Natalya’s comments on Twitter:
Imagine taking all that time off, and still coming in to do everything you never could.

Natalya then responded:
You’ve become everything you hated.
