It was recently reported that Ricochet was meant to be included during a key segment from this past Monday’s RAW Reunion featuring D-Generation X and nWo. Seth Rollins replaced Ricochet after it was revealed Ricochet was suffering from an elbow infection.
On an episode of Sean Waltman’s podcast, X-Pac 12360, the former Superstar discussed the segment with his nWo stablemate, Scott Hall.
They addressed the issues some people have had off the back of the reunion show, as the Legends weren’t put into positions to help give current talent a chance to shine.
According to Waltman and Hall, that was the original purpose of their segment with Ricochet. The topic of “burying” the current roster was brought up, and they were, apparently, overruled.
“It was the perfect spot for him because we could’ve given the rub to him,” Scott said. “Yeah, you bunch of haters, it was gonna be Ricochet, and we were trying to elevate him!”
He explained that “What people don’t realize is that everybody in that room when it was presented to us said, ‘Well, geez. Kinda burying those guys.’ It was addressed and it was overruled.”
“We said it,” Waltman added. “It’s just like … what’re we gonna do? Say ‘No, we’re not gonna do it?'”
D-Generation X would come out to assist an outnumbered Seth Rollins against The OC. They would then be further supported by the arrival of nWo members Kevin Nash and Scott Hall.
